Two new tracks, featuring vocal cameos from two dub and hip-hop heavyweights. The A-side, “Sepinggungan” features the smooth, vocal stylings of Anjing Dub’s Terranova (Bandung) while the B-side, “Russ” is a collaboration with veteran, hip-hop wordsmith, Oddateee (NYC/Lyon).

Bringing past musical traditions into the present, both tracks re-construct and fused traditional Melayu chants and the Lampung “gitar tunggal” style with a passionate exploration that encompasses dub, hip hop, and a “jungle here-breakbeat-there” style. Roadblock Dub Collective will make you groove happily with their Beverley’s or Trojan-inspired “roots reggae riddims,” chant along with Augustus Pablo-esque melody lines and laidback, lounge vibes, and dance freely with heavy beats inspired by Asian Dub Foundation. They gracefully deliver the sounds over their decks alongside their lovely collaborators in the simple spirit of COLLECTIVISM!
